Entertainment Weekly have shared some new exclusive photos from season 4 of Orange Is the New Black, which returns to Netflix on June 17th. Unforunately, only two feature Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman. Click here to see them all!

When season 4 of Orange Is the New Black debuts on June 17, the Netflix dramedy will pick up right where it left off. “It continues five seconds later,” Laura Prepon previously told EW, “which is really great because at the end of last season … I was in the greenhouse, and there was all this craziness going on.” An understatement, to be sure.

In a series of brand-new photos exclusive to EW, get a sneak peek at how the continued craziness will unfold for the ladies of Litchfield. (For example, why does it look like Piper might be losing a finger?!)

Taylor Schilling posted a few photos on Instagram today, one of which hints she may have dyed her hair fully brunette moving away from the brown and blonde mixture. Taylor seemed to be out exploring with film and TV assistant director Nic Pringle, who is third assistant director on the film ‘The Titan’ which will star Taylor.

Jenji Kohan, the creator of ‘Orange Is the New Black,‘ has revealed that Taylor Schilling‘s character Piper Chapman may not continue to serve as the main protagonist for the show. OITNB began with Piper as the central protagonist and has since explored other characters in depth as the show is made up of an ensemble cast. The shift of Piper’s characfter is to occur as she will be going on a different journey in the show and may become more unlikable.

iDigitalTimes explains more below:

When Netflix original series Orange is the New Black debuted, the story followed the journey of Piper (Taylor Schilling). During the first three seasons, the characters in the ensemble cast have become fan favorites in their own right and season 4 will see Piper less in the center, according to show creator Jenji Kohan.

Piper’s character has been going through some changes, which may shift her role as the show’s protagonist. According to Kohan, Piper is “on a journey” and will be going through “vicissitudes of likability.”

As for how Piper’s actions will impact her relationship with Alex (Laura Prepon), time will tell.

“That’s their relationship, and that’s what’s so interesting about them,” Prepon said to Entertainment Weekly. “They love each other and they hate each other, and it’s frustrating and passionate, but there’s definitely some vindication there, for sure. Piper thought she was crazy all season, but she wasn’t.”

When the show returns for its fourth season, it will pick up exactly where it left off, with Alex’s life in danger and more inmates entering the facility.

“We start with political agendas, the corporatization of the prison, the stratification of people into their little mosaic groups,” said Kohan at the 2016 Winter TCA Press Tour. “We want it to be a surprise, but [you can expect] all the fun stuff like race and hate and some things from current events that we wanted to filter through our lens.”

Orange is The New Black debuts on Netflix on June 17.

Netflix has renewedOrange Is the New Black‘ for THREE more seasons. Whilst this is exciting news, I am not sure where exactly they will be taking the show into three more seasons.

However, creator and executive producer Jenji Kohan will still be there are as the showrunner for all the future seasons to come.

In 2014, OITNB was the biggest show on Netflix. The fourth season will be on Netflix on June 17th, 2016.

“Jenji and her team have produced a phenomenal and impactful series that is both funny and dramatic, outrageous and heartfelt. Audiences around the world have come to love the ladies and men of Orange is the New Black, and we are eager to see where three more seasons will take them,” Netflix’s vp, original content, Cindy Holland, said in a statement.

Kohan added: “Three more years! Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things. In some cultures, ‘May you lead an interesting life,’ is a curse, but I don’t live in those cultures. Here’s to keeping it interesting. Thanks Netflix! Both thanks and you’re welcome Lionsgate! And kudos and gratitude to the stellar cast and crew and writers and producers and editors and musicians and mixers and shleppers… with whom I have the pride and honor of crafting this show. Three more years! Three more years!”

Lionsgate TV group chairman Kevin Beggs said: “We’re proud to continue our long-standing relationships with Netflix and the incredibly talented Jenji Kohan and delighted that one of the most acclaimed shows on television will continue on Netflix for three more seasons. Jenji’s brilliant creative vision and a truly amazing cast have catapulted Orange is the New Black to the forefront of the platinum age of television, and we’re pleased that Orange fans around the world will be rewarded with another three seasons.”

On January 30th, the Screen Actors Guild Award ceremony, also known as the SAG Awards, took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. ‘Orange Is the New Black‘ won ‘Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series’ for the second year in a row, however Taylor Schilling could not be in attendance as she was in Spain.

Schilling’s co-star Laura Prepon spoke on behalf of the cast as they all took to the stage to accept their award. She said “Look at this stage. This is what we talk about when we talk about diversity. Different race, color, creed, sexual orientation.”

Uzo Aduba also won ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series’ for the second time for her performance in ‘Orange Is the New Black.’

Whilst it isn’t clear why Schilling did not make it to the SAG Awards for the second year, she congradulated the cast with a wonderful selfie on Instagram as she posts from Spain.

👏👏👏👏👏#oitnb #sagawards2016 sending much love from Spain to the entirely brilliant cast
